Nightlife is a classic part of student life. Along with cultural events, concerts, and bars, the town in the Upper Harz offers students chances to “grill and chill” beside its many mountain lakes in the summer and to enjoy après-ski flair at winter parties like the international Christmas party.

Many events are organized by the students themselves – for example, the science slam. And in Clausthal, you never have to wonder how you’re getting home at the end of a student party, because you can just walk. Most apartments are within ten minutes’ walk. The bars and cafes in the center of town are also nearby. Even an excursion to the nearby town of Goslar takes less time than traveling  from the suburbs to the center of a major city.
