The term BAföG – short for Bundesausbildungsförderungsgesetz – refers to Germany’s federal law on financial support for education, under which German students can receive funding for the standard duration of their chosen degree program.
Student loans and education loans represent an additional means of financing your studies and are available irrespective of whether or not you are receiving BAföG funding.
Known as HiWi jobs in German, student assistant positions are a chance to earn money within the university itself.
