In the research group Dependable and Autonomous Cyber-physical Systems (DACS) on Institute for Software and Systems Engineering (ISSE) at Clausthal University of Technology has an immediate vacancy for a
research assistant (m/f/d)
(TV-L E 13)
in the field of Reliable (Safe and Protected) Autonomous Driving in Clausthal-Zellerfeld, initially for a period of up to 3 years on a full-time basis. The position is generally suitable for part-time work. As part of the job, the opportunity to do a doctorate at Clausthal University of Technology is offered.
The Institute for Software and Systems Engineering (ISSE) is one of the two computer science institutes at Clausthal University of Technology and is home to several research groups. You can find more information about the ISSE Institute on our website: https://www.isse.tu-clausthal.de/.
Your tasks are
- Research and development in the above mentioned topics.
- Design and implementation of prototypes.
- Publication of your results at national and international conferences.
- Support in the preparation of lectures, supervision of exercises and of students (in our B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs).
Your profile:
- Very good/good degree (Master, Diploma) in computer science, business informatics, mathematics or similar with interest in scientific work as part of a doctorate.
- Independent, structured way of working, quick comprehension and the ability to familiarize yourself quickly with new concepts.
- Enjoyment of scientific work.
- Very good/good programming skills (at least in Python and C++).
- Good written and spoken German (at least C1 level) and English.
- In-depth experience in software engineering, with a sound understanding of key principles and best practices.
Knowledge of the following areas is desirable:
- Experience and/or prior knowledge in one of the following areas: software testing, runtime monitoring or diagnostics combined with a desire to embed these in today's assurance processes.
- Knowledge of software development methods (especially agile methods such as Scrum) and modeling of system structures and behavior.
- Experience with common software development tools, for example Git, IDEs, CI/CD and issue tracking.

Remuneration is based on the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states
(TV-L). The TV-L provides for an annual special payment at the end of the year. In addition, we offer a separate supplementary pension scheme in the form of a company pension (VBL).
