Update from 14 January
Dear students, with this mail you will receive important information about - compulsory testing for all (except only persons with booster vaccination or recovery after vaccination breakthrough) - compulsory masks (throughout, also at the seat, FFP2-/KN95-masks strongly recommended) at the upcoming presence exams. Face-to-face exams are currently possible, the decision about the exam format (face-to-face or online) is up to the examiners. For face-to-face exams, the alternative option of writing them online is not provided. This also applies to persons who are infected with Covid-19, are in quarantine, are afraid of infection during the exam, belong to a risk group or are not on site, e.g. for pandemic reasons. An overview of the examinations with details of the examination format can be found here https://www.tu-clausthal.de/fileadmin/TU_Clausthal/dokumente/Pr%C3%BCfungsangelegenheiten/Pr%C3%BCfungszeitr%C3%A4ume_Klausurtermine/Aktueller_Pr%C3%BCfungszeitraum/Pr%C3%BCfungstermine_WS_2021_2022.pdfAll participants will be required to present a current, official certificate of a negative test result. Only persons who can prove booster vaccination or recovery after a complete vaccination ("breakthrough infection") will be exempt from this requirement. Official, up-to-date proof of testing is required. You will not be able to participate in the exam without it (see above for exception). There is no possibility of testing on site before the start of the exam. A self-administered quick test is not sufficient. Against this background, I would like to draw your attention to the vaccination campaign tomorrow (Saturday, 15.1.22), from 9 h to 14 h in the foyer of the main building. https://www. tu-clausthal.de/corona/aktuelle-meldungen Currently there is a quite good test offer in Clausthal. From 8 h - 18 h, Mon-Sat, the test center in Clausthal, Am Rathaus 3, is open. You can get to the reservation via this page https://coronatest-bad-harzburg.de/?fbclid=IwAR3W8Wq_vAN5YzrOF9yESo8U51Y_u4YYKjuOkTlsLbJ8ket6q8Jg7MPDQQs by clicking on Clausthal-Zellerfeld. From 18 h to 22 h, Mon-Sun, there is a test offer in the clubhouse of the motorcycle club "Old Brother" in Osterröder Straße 2, currently without appointment reservation. An overview of quick test locations in the Oberharz or in the district of Goslar can be found here https://www.oberharz.de/info-service/aktuelles/artikel/ueberblick-testzentren-in-der-region and also here https://corona.landkreis-goslar.de/ueberblick-ueber-die-schnell-testzentren/ and especially for Clausthal by clicking on Clausthal-Zellerfeld currently here https://corona.landkreis-goslar.de/assets/Uploads/CLZellerfeldTestzentren-v9.pdf During the retreat, masks (medical or FFP2-/KN95-mask) are mandatory throughout, even at the seat. We kindly ask you to wear a FFP2-/KN95-mask to protect yourself and the other participants as best as possible. If you are exempt from wearing a mask for medical reasons, you must notify the examiner(s) by e-mail at least one week before the exam and attach a medical certificate. You may then be assigned a separate room in order to protect you and others as best as possible even then. If you have not reported at least one week in advance, you will be required to wear a mask. It is our concern to protect you as best as possible. Therefore, I ask for your understanding for these measures, especially for the extended testing obligation. For all upcoming exams I wish you a successful preparation and a good success. Yours sincerely, Christian Bohn
Wristbands and stickers available as proof for students
The 3G rule applies to attendance at courses starting on 25th October. For those students who can demonstrate full vaccination cover or recovery as defined by the Corona Regulation, two voluntary options are offered to facilitate checks: wearing a wristband or placing a sticker on the TUCard. Further information
The distribution of wristbands and stickers starts on Friday, 22th October - Overview of distribution points and times
General 3G rule in effect
Dear students,
Currently, the the 3G rule is in effect at our university as specified in the Covid 19 regulations of the Federal State of Lower Saxony. To protect the health of our students and teaching staff and to provide clear rules under which face-to-face teaching can take place, further restrictions of the 3G rule have become necessary.
The 3G rule is now in effect at our university for all classes and other teaching events independently of the number of participants, the warning level and the average case notificatication rate.
You as a student are solely responsible for proving that you fulfill the 3G rule. By participating in class, you explicitly acknowledge that you fulfill the criteria of the 3G rule. You may be asked to provide proof at any time. Participating in class without fulfilling the criteria of the 3G rule is a misdemeanor for which you might be fined. The instructors can ask you to provide proof.
For those of you that have not (yet) been fully immunized or have recovered from a Covid 19 infection, an opportunity for self tests under supervision will still be provided. In the week from 4 October until 8 October, a self test center will operate in the Mensa building. The self test center opens at 7:45 am and closes at 8:30 am. Test kits will be provided. Students that show up until 8:30 am will be able to conduct a self test under supervision and will get a certificate that can be used to get access to events at TU Clausthal at the same day. This service is particularly provided for participants of events of the welcome week.
You will receive further information on test possibilities starting on 11 October within the next few days.
We are checking possibities for simplifying the access control through wrist bands or stickers on the TUCard. You will receive further information as soon as a decision has been made.
Yours sincerely
Christian Bohn
